BSNL 4G on testing, the new game changer in Telecom

BSNL, the only state owned telecom company is going to launch 4G services, which is on testing, and this is going to be the new game changer in telecom industry. We are hearing 2G, 3G, 3.5G and now its 4G, for information G implies Generation and numbers implies their sequence of evolution. The sequence mostly implied for its speed carrying capability and supported by multi tasking features.

2G can go upto 14.4 kbps, In 2G both voice and data can go with in same channel. In 3G technology speeds may touch up to 3.1Mbps and supports video calling, video streaming etc., In 3.5G speeds may touch up to 14.4 Mbps, Coming to todays topic of 4G, this may offer the speeds up to 100 to 300 Mbps, 4G may even support HD content also.

Now every telecom service provider are in the news with one and only one topic, that is launch of their 4G services. Coming to BSNL, it is also joining the 4G bandwagon along with Vodafone, Airtel, Reliance Jio and Aircel. All the service providers are ready with their infra in place.
BSNL 4G on Testing
BSNL had surrendered its 4G licenses in six circles, which include, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamilnadu Kolkata. Still BSNL is having 4G license in 14 other circles in which BSNL is planning 4G Services.

As per the report of teleanalysis, Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD, BSNL informs that “The eco system for 2.6 GHz is developing fast and soon BSNL plans to launch 4G services in Chandigarh and Jaipur, where conducting 4G proof of concept (PoC) in Indore and Lucknow with Gemini Communications as the system integrator in these cities and BSNL is planning to deploy 4G services once BSNL 4G proof of concept is successful in Indore and Lucknow.

Further more BSNL operating profit is into positive sides. BSNL top management is very much interested towards profits, that is the reason there are many changes and are working towards the profit of the company. Say whether it can be free land line calling, free roaming , WiFi Hotspots etc..

BSNL is gearing up to give head on with other international service providers with latest technology advancements in its cockpit. BSNL lost its portion of voice segment because of of its delays in technology adoption and also in procurements during 2006 to 2012 (crucial 6 years). Now BSNL is betting big on Data consumption. if you check the data consumed in 2013 is more or less "60 to 70 TB", but now the data consumption from BSNL is about 250 TB.

Along with 4G services, BSNL is also going to increase its data subscription base and also wants to cater high speed data requirements at low prices, and this may possible with newly launched 5G based BSNL WiFi hotspot data speeds which are going to touch the new peaks. So that we can expect BSNL to be in the top carts with all latest tariff plans in one place with new launch of high speed BSNL 4G which is on testing and to be the next game changer in Indian Telecom Industry.

  1. Can we know the plan of launch of 4G?

  2. AMANCHARLA venkata SUDHAKARA SARMA9 December 2015 at 17:34

    When will BSNL 4G start?
Or else BSNL customers are forced to switch over to others like Airtel or so

  3. Planned BSNL's failure? If I was the head of BSNL, I wouldn't have given the highest bidding price of 2300MHz spectrum for filthy 2500 MHz spectrum...I wish BSNL should surrender this spectrum in all the circles and purchase fresh spectrum in 700, 800, 1800 and 2300 MHz bands... Otherwise, BSNL can only dream of profits... Also, their 900 and 1800 MHz band spectrum are going to expire in 2020... I think BSNL will shut down its services after that...

  4. What about 2G areas,can they upgrade with 3G? Or direct 4G?

  5. BSNL cannot purchase or sell BW on its own. Its ministry always which does so. So if BSNL shuts its only the GOI which is to be blamed for its wrong policies.

  6. as an employee of BSNL, I agree with the technical facts by abishek.

  7. Bsnl is always Behind other Network.. After all private telecom has installed 4g.... At last like the police in cinema.. Came after everything has happened. Sometime they should plan earlier for the newest Technology applicable rather then follow up other telecom....

  8. Instead of going after for 4G, BSNL should improve its services in those areas where people are still relying on 2G services. No offense!!!

  9. Why 4G is surrendered in Maharashtra n 6 States? Is it not against National Interest????

  10. Bsnl has very low quality BTS in Maharashtra. When will be upgraded?????
Also for converting in postpaid Bsnl Kalyan staff require 15 days we why????

  11. Will bsnl launch their 4 g services in up??
