BSNL Broadband Rental Discount to be reduced for Govt Employees

As a special offer, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited introduced rental discount on BSNL Broadband Services to Government employees of State / PSU / Central sectors from many years. On review as per current market traditions, BSNL has revised the existing special discount on all Broadband Services i.e. BSNL DSL / FiberNet / WiMAX.

As of now, BSNL is the only Internet Service Provider (ISP), who offers the discount for Government Employees since 2013. We have seen that in recent days, every product price has been raised to large extent and increased our daily expenses, but BSNL the only dependable operator having widest coverage to every nook and corner across India allows the special discounts and many offers to Internet users on each and every circle according to their market conditions and feasibility along with special discounted BSNL Rural Broadband Plans for rural internet customers across PAN India.
BSNL Broadband Rental Discount for Government Employees Reduced
In view of rationalization and to offer best services to their Broadband customers with more attractive offers, BSNL already launches Unlimited Free Calling for Broadband users and Free National Roaming for Mobile Users. In addition to that, BSNL has also announced the following benefit for unlimited internet broadband users from 1st October 2015 across PAN India.
Among introduction of various offers to BSNL Users and as per current market conditions, now BSNL reviews the discount scheme of employees and decided to reduce the discount from existing 10% to 5% on rental and usage for the serving and retired central Government/State Government/PSU Employees (existing and new customers) under DSL, WiMAX and FTTH(FiberNet) BSNL Broadband services.

This new revised scheme benefits provided by BSNL for Government Employees shall be effective from 01-10-2015 and the revised reduced discount on BSNL broadband Connection of Govt Employees shall be applicable of their BSNL Telephone Bills issued from 01-11-2015 on-wards, in all BSNL Service areas (Circles/Metro Districts) across India.

  1. bsnl is loosing all charm. BSNL SERVICE IS NOT ATALL SATISFACTORY. Who will answer for frequent disruption of internet and non availability of service in hours of requirement. Most of the people dislike bsnl only due to poor connectivity. Govt. employees were feeling brotherhood and was also getting 20% discount. Now bsnl is going to reduce it to 5% discount compared to others. Why then they will stick to bsnl with all its failures at their irritation and money? THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN PLANNED ONLY AFTER IMOROVING THE SERVICE AT PAR WITH OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS. PLEASE GET THE MARKET SURVEY DONE , THE ANSWER WILL BE CONVINCING.

    1. VERY CORRECTLY POINTED OUT THE NEGATIVE APPROACH OF BSNL. THEY MADE NO PROGRESS IN PROVIDING BETTER SERVICES DURING THE PAST ONE DECADE. THEY SHOULD THINK OF COMPETING WITH OTHER PVT. SERVICE PROVIDERS.

    2. first the bsnl to reduce free phone and free calls to their retired and active staff,
all these perquisites are being paid by the others further if they continue this they will end with situation their staff only will use bsnl and no revenue .

  3. We the Government Servants were the main source of Customers to the BSNL and we have been promoting the usage of BSNL with our fellow Government employees in which case many had already migrated from other Private providers to BSNL.It was afterall not for availing the discount but as a patriot to support the Government Telecom which in turn would be benefiting the citizens of India and form a livelihood for the enormous number of Government employees in P&T Sector. No issues on the reduction, but BSNL while comparing its performance on par with Private should improve its services still further. I inspite of preferring Rs.1495 Broad plan plan with static IP, I am not able to get Internet properly and the Voice line always with disturbances.I tried to disconnect the Broad band usage to check the distaurbance, it still persists. BSNL has very good scope. They need not sit and dream for their diversification. Just follow the idealogy and services of ETISALAT, a Government owned telecom company in Dubai, UAE.

  4. Good move. This will motivate the government employees, who are currently viewing BSNL as a govt organization and hence are committed to it, to realise the reality and change over to better telecom service providers

  5. Unlimited free calling for broadband user after 9pm is not applicable for all the plans like BB home combo ULD 640 CS 24. They are giving wrong advertising

  6. BSNL is not maintaining the same tariffs for broadband services in landline all over India. In some states for Rs.1100/- approx ,it is 20GB at 8MBPS and 512 kbps unlimited thereafter.but in Jharkand it is for the same rate only 8 GB at 2 MBPS and 512 kbps thereafter. This is not justified at all.Are we people in Jharkand are sinners and also we don't the quality of service as in metros. These people also stopped the night free [2am to 8am] broadband scheme without any information and charged Rs.3000/- extra for 3 months. These BSNL people have time to send the monthly bill in email but cannot inform the change in scheme in email. These lazy people say they want to serve the customers better. This is a joke.

  9. We cant discard the grandmother even if her performance is low compared to young ladies of our house. Likewise Iam maintaining Broadband connection of BSNL as well as MTS as an alternative. Now they are going to lift the reduction for serving and retired Government employees.. The way how they dig their own graveyard.....

  10. It is a best way of supporting private service provider ( It is the agenda) But still I am with bsnl to support government company.
Please avoid free call to BSNL network and reduce tariff If you really want to improve BSNL and

  11. This method of increasing revenue will be like cutting the duck that lays the golden egg.
Already BSNL has followed several undeclared indirect methods of changing the methods of calculations, reducing the free call units, reducing the call duration, imposing differential tariff rate for ON Network and OFF Network etc without any change in their services. Present move will lead to loss of a few more customers who wanted to support Govt. Telecom Service provider. Had their services been up to the mark, how so many pvt. service provider could come in to play in the field and that too successfully . BSNL has to reconsider before implementing such radical decision. Instead they can think of how to provide better services to retain the remaining customers with them,.THINK OF METHODS TO ATTRACT INSTEAD OF DRIVING AWAY

  12. their next move is increasing broadband plan prices which they already started in east regions. their claim is giving free unlimited calling at night. but no one have asked for free calling during sleep times. if they had provided better unlimited speed at night it would be beneficial as broadband users want speed and more data volume and no need of calling. its like giving water when subscribed for milk and praising the value of water.

bsnl is making foolish decisions like laying miles of lines in rural regions where people hardly use internet and buying unwanted mobile spectrum at high prices and the increasing cost of debt they imposing on loyal customers buy such foolish moves.

  13. instead of thinking change in tariff and curtail the discounts, more customers may be attracted towards BSNL by providing quality and committed service towards customers. As for as i am concerned they BSNL struggling to reach their plenty of better tariffs and plans to general public through proper advertising it leads problem in choose / avail right tariff plan to right customers.in my view Discount is not a great thing if quality of service ensured.Growth can be achived only by satisfying customers. For that they have trained staffs always available to cater the needs of customers even in Holidays and during night hours . I wish that the Govt owned BSNL company has move towards positive progression by improving service quality and implementing modern technology.,

  14. bsnl is gradually losing its fame and valid customers by announcing this kind of crap, like 2 MBPS up to 1 GB(!!!!) expecting more such news in future, e.g 10 MBPS speed up to first 100 MB then revert back to usual 512 Kbps, and announce that the speed is increased up to 10 MBPS...thats all i can suggest. RIP BSNL,

  15. if they make the so called unlimited calling feature , all the 24 hours, already private players have , it may be attractive , atleast in Metros...otherwise their installed capacity Fiber network will go waste..Hope someone listens...

  16. If complaint is really heard and any action is taken over it that is the only company BSNL; private providers are just business men; BSNL is service provider but requires to improve services

  18. Initially the discount offered to Govt./Public sector employees is 20%. This discount was reduced to 10% after some time. Now the discount is proposed to reduce further to 5%. This type of action will lead to BSNL achieve further loses.

  19. It is shameful for BSNL, being the the largest govt undertaking body, to make such nuisance to reduce the discount rate for the govt employees. It is the age of E-life and this facilitates the governance of the country as Hon P.M Modi reiterates and emphasizes about digital India, but his dream will be far from madding crowd, When internet facility is nominal or free in most countries, india is one such country where people are being deprived of their easy access to govt information. I suggest at least all govt sites should be free to browse and download.

  20. Are there any chances that the private players are bribing BSNL staff to deliberately provide low quality service despite the excellent hardware infrastructure they posses? This way, private players, especially Airtel stand to gain. Airtel solutions are prompt whenever there is an issue.

    1. submit your bank employee id card along with your application to concerned BSNL office to avail employee discount

  22. I am a customer of BSNL and a government employee. Gradually they are bringing down the discount for government employees and cutting their loyalty base. From 20% to 10% and now just for sake of discount at 5%. Everybody know whom they are going to help. One thing is clear, this action is not for helping their balance sheet. It is definitely forcing the loyal govt employees to shift their loyalty. There is a message subsumed in their action. They are the biggest player in the most vibrant business space and having all the infrastructure and skilled manpower. But still they don't to manage it. It is a shame.

  23. I am a customer of BSNL since 1998 and also a employee of State Government Public Sector Undertaking. Government employees are paying their Income Taxes promptly. They are the base for the consistent revenue to BSNL. Knowing the fact, of late the BSNL had introduced a reduction of 20% for Broad Band users to the Government employees. Then the BSNL reduced the discount from 20% to 10% and now (from 01.10.2015) it has been further reduced to 5%. This is a negative approach by the BSNL forcing the loyal govt employees to shift their loyalty. So the Government & BSNL have to consider all the customers either they are Government/Private employees or public the discount to be given at least 10% to all. Definitely BSNL usage band width will get increase.

  24. BSNL will have to rethink in this matter. Because this will worsen the problems in the current situation of BSNL. BSNL employees never promote their products even if we go to the office. So situation of BSNL will worsen by taking discount of the users. Becuase many companies are giving less monthly rental then BSNL without even giving any discount.
If the goverment has decided to sell BSNL to private players than may be they are doing this so that they can show the loss and sell it. Not a good idea for the government also if they think so.

  26. today I seen my bill and noticed that at first BSNL reduced it discount from 10% to 5 % and not reduced from 5% to 0%.
