BSNL Broadband to offer minimum Internet Speed as '2Mbps'

BSNL Broadband user in almost everywhere are eagerly waiting about the upgradation of Internet Speed, the time now happened, BSNL announced the exclusive news to offer the minimum Unlimited Broadband Internet Speed as 2Mbps in each plan with FUP Limit applicable for all ADSL Broadband customers across India by continuing BSNL Unlimited Free Night Calling.

Now its going to be DATA revolution, gone are the days voice communication ruled the world, where now all the telecom companies are much concerned on DATA communications and their high speed. BSNL CMD he himself told that now BSNL want to participate in Indian Data revolution.

That’s the reason, BSNL exchanges are going to be renovated with NGN switches. With this NGN exchanges every BSNL Landline might act as IP telephone. On the same word, BSNL is going to increase its 512Kbps unlimited broadband connections with 2Mbps speed till FUP as per respective plan.
BSNL minimum Broadband Internet Speed increased to 2Mbps
Now a days there is heavy competition among the internet service providers. Even in the B class towns also, local service providers are offering high speeds at lowest prices and also corporate service providers are really offering comparable plans.

Now a days market is going towards higher speeds, customers are expecting like “Dil Mange More” speeds, So BSNL reviews the market and all internet activities with its minimum speeds and came out with a solution to increase its minimum broadband internet speeds to 2Mbps for data communication and with unlimited free voice calling to any network during night hours.

This is really a great step towards Data revolution. BSNL is moving as per the current trends of the market. In general BSNL plans are very consumer friendly. There will be a good balance between Data and Voice usage, that only makes BSNL to have a separate status, after this new upgradation of BSNL Internet Speed, the trust in broadband users is to be increase more. Have a look about the speed increase in BSNL Broadband Plans and their FUP Limit.

In near future, BSNL should also think more on these offers of 1GB, which is the FUP of basic plans, and increase the FUP Limit for all BSNL Broadband Plans, which in turn gives more and more broadband connections. This new increased download speed along with continuation of unlimited free night calling to any network landline  / mobile network will be the amazing offer for all BSNL Broadband Internet Users in this 2015.

This latest news from BSNL of its increased minimum broadband speeds from 512Kbps to 2Mbps is going to come into active from October 1st of 2015, which will be a given as BSNL Formation Day Gift to their customers.

In earlier, we have already discussed about the news of Governments decision to launch minimum internet speed as 2Mbps, for that Indian Internet users are eagerly waiting about the, before that only, BSNL announced minimum of 2Mbps Internet download speed, but this is with some FUP Limit. In near future, soon we all expect, this may also changed to get more speed at great extent from our best broadband internet service provider BSNL.

    1. Thats true. Because most customers use 512 kbps speed in india and others are expensive for peoples in india. So its necessary to change minimum speed instead of upgrading and restricting with FUP. Hope we may get 2 mbps as the minimum speed and no more 512 kbps from bsnl.

    2. 2mbps upto 1 Gb .what is this? is 1 gB a limit to unlimited connections? its only a joke. min 10 GB they should give in 2 Mbps speed . otherwise old plan holds good.

      think BSNL

    3. Very True atleast for that 899 plan they can have 1mbps flat after 6GB.

    4. I agree with you. I thought they will provide 2MB flat speed but now I realised how they are fooling people. I have to look for other service provider now.

  2. Worst Bsnl as its not waking up even today also as Airtel is also giving unlimited calls and with 2 Mbps speed the fup must be kept for 2mbps and there is no east and westgodavari districts so increase speed in these areas also

    1. BSNL speed up bandwidth 512 kbps to 2 mbps but only for 1 GB (according to http://www.bsnlteleservices.co...
) guys . So wake up It's like every month you see 2 mbps speed for
about 1 hours and then as usual 512 kbps . So there no point to
celebrate this is BSNL . I don't know who are making this ridicules
plans , they don't think before act they want his customers back . They
think we are stupid ones . Before when 500 combo plan is still alive on
that time we download I don't know about you guys but mine average
monthly download data was about 120 GB . If really BSNL want come back
from loses remove FUP or limitation have to upgrade at least 60 to 100
GB to 2 MBPS speed . Right now it’s only 1 GB for 2 mbps and then your
speed downgraded to 512 kbps . So think about that guys and make some
noise to wake BSNL up . Thanks .

  5. BSNL should be there as a competitive player in the market in India otherwise it would lead to cartelisation of private players. I lived in remote areas of Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh and have been using BSNL Broadband for the past 15 years. NOTHING like BSNL Broadband Services. Private players simply make a lot of halla gulla but they cannot match the speeds provided by BSNL Landline Broadband.

  6. Bsnl did a great job to get users back to bsnl.... But this 1GB FUP limit is not satisfactory for most customers. Tier 3 broadbands are providing speed of about 5 to 10 mbps using peer to peer bandwidth through cable which is not possible by tier 1 dsl providers, but still atleast FORGET 512 kbps and make 2 mbps as minimum speed without any FUP. Users expecting this in recent future. India is one of the slow broadband countries in world, & now is the time to change that. Salute to government and to Broadband providers. Make india a true digitally transformed nation by providing 2 mbps speed without any FUP.

  7. It is all about GB limits and not the "speed."
No use EVEN if BSNL gives 100 Mbps for just 1 GB FUP data cap, AND then plague it with same old 512kpbs FUP speed.

    ReplyDelete
  8. At least raise that FUP crossed speed to some higher value. If 2 Mbps is not possible then give 1.5 Mbps or 1 Mbps or at least 768 Kbps. Then its called improvement this so called 2 Mbps is just for initial few minutes of usage. 1 GB gets used within 1.5 hrs with 2 Mbps speed. Then its simply a 512 Kbps connection.

    ReplyDelete

    1. After 1 GB completion one message will be displayed on screen for upgrade (continue speed further by top-up ie Rs.100 for 2GB, Rs.200 for 5GB, Rs300 for 10GB and Rs.500 for 20GB respectively) or decline (which give 512Kbps) for that particular month. So Enjoy the speed by taking extra top-up in need

  16. Stupid BSNL, has milked all the customers dry for so many years and now with Reliance Jio round the corner they are launching such schemes. Though I have to say they still are dropping you back down to 512Kbps after a certain amount of data usage, what's the point ? a use of 1GB or 2GB or 10GB is hardly anything much in today's media enabled Internet. The minimum drop down speed should have been locked at 1Mbps and not 512Kbps as it will be even after all this show they are making.

    ReplyDelete
  17. BSNL Suckssss. 2 Mbps speed for 1gb only better let it be the way it is.
At the speed of 2 mbps 1 gb is useless for unlimited customer.
They better make it unlimited at 2 mbps speed instead of useless 512.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Change the speed to at least 1mbps unlimited , we don`t want 1gb with 2 mbps FUP limit.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It's really useless until BSNL removes FUP limit and locks minimum internet speed as 2 Mbps. With 2 Mbps speed 1 GB won't even last longer. So BSNL should remove the FUP limit to attract new customers or keep the customers who are removing BSNL connections because of poor speed and quality of connection. BSNL probably should concentrate more on providing quality of connection. I am sitting here with a poor connection(rural unlimited plan) of Loop Attenuation(dB)---58.7(Downstream) 35.3(Upstream)
    Signal Attenuation(dB)---58.7(Downstream) 34.9(Upstream)
    SNR Margin(dB) ---6.5(Downstream) 6.2(Upstream)
I gave complaint about frequent disconnections and sometimes no connections and the customer service called me and said to change my modem. I already had 2 modems which were working properly but still they said me to change the modem, In the end the customer service said they'd cancel the complaint unless I change my modem. LOL . So the conclusion is that they should give more customer service and quality connections instead of trying to apply some stupid strategy to increase their customers. Now what might happen with this new strategy is that the news headlines will attract new customer because of the 2 Mbps connection then they will realize it was with just 1 GB FUP limit and they will just walk away and buy some other ISP's connection. It will be a total failure. If they don't provide proper customer support and quality connection they will probably become bankrupt one day because of loss of customers. If anyone here knows what I should do now to get better connection please help me. I don't have any other ISPs here as I live in rural area.

    1. If you have a 512 kbps unlimited connection for a month and say for example you use the services for a full month, 24 hours a day, you will be using a lot of bandwidth. Now imagine many consumers doing the same. This will stall the whole network which is not up to date, resulting in drop in connection or slow connections. The broadband service providers are not able to handle too many simultaneous users and neither do they have advanced/ upgraded technology to do so, hence they have come up with the FUP[Fair Usage Policy] crap.

    2. True but their resources (servers, network lines, routers etc) remain active 24hrs and out of this at night time usage is very very less but still resources not shutdown to service incoming requests even if the no is less. BSNL can thus increase speed of unlimited plans at this time without no problem of overloading this is a no loss strategy as no extra expense by doing this like now BSNL giving unlimited calling at night. Same way they can increase internet speed too at night which will surely attractive many broadband users to BSNL.

BSNL should learn from govt's railwire. In BSNL FTTH plans start at 4000 rs and also have FUP speed of 512kbps.

  72. 1GB limit for 2MB speed. Joke and indirect force to move private internet providers ... Reliance is giving 2MB speed with no limit. I am paying 800Rs for flat 512 MB speed and 1 GB will be used in a day time .... No use

  73. BSNL made fool to crores of Indians by making such worthless announcement of speed upgrade to 2mbps. People started seeing sweet dreams of smooth video streaming, but very soon the dreams burst like bubbles when heard of 1gb fup. What a cheap type marketing of bsnl's officers? This is a great insult to the digital India dream of our PM Modiji. In 2015 1gb data of 2mbps, what is need of this? You take this and continue as previous 512kbps flat. DON'T tell it speed upgrade.

  74. But asianet is providing continues 1 mb unlimited and reduces in speed if it exceeds 100 gb

  75. 1 GB FUP. And after that the same old 512 kb speed. Digital India my ass. When the African countries like Mali and Somalia will offer 4 mbps unlimited speed, then I think BSNL will give 2 mbps speed without FUP (if BSNL survives that long, that is).

  76. BSNL 2 Mbps is joke its not actually 256 KB/s instead maximum around 205 KB/s only and with this speed 720p HD video streams can't be played without buffering.

To overcome this BSNL should aim for 2.5 Mbps then only users can get it near 2 Mbps.

1 GB FUP is nothing for unlimited plan users. If they want very less data volume like this they would never take unlimited plan.

If its not feasible to provide 2 Mbps without FUP then please introduce new plans like 768Kbps FUP for some 100, 200 rs extra its will be much better than this 2 Mbps for just 1 GB.

Better FUP plans like 768 Kbps, 1 Mbps, 1.5 Mbps instead of same 512 Kbps for all is pathetic as with 512 Kbps only 240p video streams can be played that too get stuck often.

  77. Yes, Only for some time i was see 180kbps speed and after that one message was show me from bsnl, After that speed is as it is. Now what is new into it? BSNL must increase it's internet speed, how long bsnl live in old days?

  78. I was really excited to know the speed hike as boasted by BSNL . What the hell????
Only 1 GB then why the hell did u put up a hike in speed for 1 hr in my case ill finish it by then . BSNL should improve their methods otherwise it wont be long before they get over thrown completely THINK BSNL THINK!!!!!!

  79. 2 Mbps with 1 GB FUP...!!! BSNL could not differentiate between "Mobile Internet" and "Broadband Unlimited Plan"...!!!

  81. I don't know what happened in my case !!!
as per there FUP limits, on 1st oct morning I used my 1 gb of 2mbps data within 1.5 hrs and then the msg came up saying " You have exceeded your limit .... " i choose normal speed and from then I was browsing and downloading with 512 kbsp , as per my plan's ( BBG Combo UL 675) flat speed
But SURPRISINGLY from 2nd octobor 12.00 am ( till now ) my speed is again 2 mbps ,
I am from west bengal (not kolkata) and want to know if anyone else facing the same situation now ? is bsnl increased the fup limit ? or they just decided to give 2 mbps as flat ? or its happening to me only ?

  82. Just make 512kbps to 1mbps thats enough... across world India is the only one country which is having low internet speed... Bcoz of our great BSNL ..
if u want Digital INDIA to get success means first increase this Speed... !!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. this plan is of no use because the 2mbps u provided is only til 1gb of usage which wil get over by an hour after that it reduces to 512kbps which was same as before.. Please extend the speed atleast upto 8gb of usage... as provided by other internet providers

  84. Is this the effort BSNL is making to replenish it's already diminishing customer base or for the larger perspective of the 'Digital India Initiative'?
2 Mbps for a mere 1GB of usage?
Well, Congratulations BSNL you failed again miserably.
The economic and technological progress of India is plagued heavily by your FUP. 512 Kbps line is not even close to be called a broadband connection now a days. Kindly wake up from your long sleep and for once try and serve the customers rather than filling your own pockets.
2 Mbps flat was what was required and expected now and sadly you failed India again with your age-old FUP.

  86. I think they have increased speed for uld 675 plan constant 2mbps from last 3 days,i have downloaded over 30+gb over this period of time, i did get message saying u reached ur limit browse low speed, but it didnt effect the speed 1bit, i hope this change is permanent.

  87. Thanks to BSNL to increase the speed to 2 MBPS. But it is limited to 1 GB data for 545/= plan.I have verified it. After 1GB+ data download the speed have slowed down to 63 Kilo bytes per second. It should be increased to 20 GB.

  88. speed should also be upgraded for wimax

  89. i hv downloaded 5 gb on 1oct night with 2 MBPS after that i got message of exceeding limit . I declined however after 02 oct afternoon i am still getiing the same 2MBPS speed .

  90. First let BSNl provide a constant speed of 512 KBs...then they can talk about all this gimmicks..i m in 675 plan ...till date the maximum speed i reached is 70 kbs.......After this new announcement the first day i reached 1.6Mbps amazing.... then from next day onwards it was back to pavilion only 70 kbs...i m a coimbatore peelamedu xchange customer...

  91. BSNL is currently fooling all people by adding the FUP to the unlimited plans, if there is an FUP of 1GB why do you even call it as unlimited plan. This is totally useless. Our PM is thinking of "Digitial India", I am sorry to say but if BSNL is tricking it's customers like this, what kind of Slow Digital India would we live in?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Unless BSNL provides an unlimited plan with minimum 1MB speed , people who are working from home will definitely for other private boradband plans which are much better than BSNL plans and cheap also.

    ReplyDelete
  93. If this still going to be fup limit I will shift to the reliance as it is giving more affordable plans at lower rates to all of their users.

    ReplyDelete
  94. bsnl is adapting a very cheap trick on its customers and showing it like a grand change. after realising this trick i know they will lose even more customers than before. be true bsnl not a trickster. remove fup and make 2mbps a baseline speed.

  95. In Vellore, BSNL JE informed me that after FUP in all plans it is 1Mbps instead of 512 Kbps. Is it correct?

    ReplyDelete
  96. This is a boast giving 2mb speed. In reality it is not so.In Visakhapatnam for my plan UL 675 combo I am not getting not even 1mb speed after 25gb and not even 2mb before 25 GB.

  97. Please don't tell that,it's revolution and it's what differentiating BSNL with other networks.Other networks give 30GB @ 4Mbps for 750 rupees. This holds good for a broadband user. But just 1GB@2Mbps?This is not a revolution. This is just to fool people and make them to get BSNL broadband connection.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Hey BSNL is fooling everyone as it increased 2 mbps but fup limit makes the users to not like this service. Tikona broadband providing high speed(4 mbps) with 30 gb for RS.750 Spectranet providing 10 mbps with no fup limit at RS.700. But you provide 2mbps 1gb fup limit for Rs.650 with 2taxes and bill goes to Rs.750. I enjoyed 200 kbps speed on Nov 2015 now even before the fup limt i just enjoyed 50kbps now after the fup limit the speed is just 2 to 10 kbps.
I hate BSNL. I have airtel 3g in my area i think it will better if i use my sim.Cost Rs.650 speed 1.8 to 3 mbps unlimited.

  99. Hey BSNL make a unlimited no FUP 1 mbps or 2 mbps plan

It will be more useful for us

  100. dear sir
i was taken a bsnl broadband
plan is 650/- and plan show 512 kb
then my browsing speed is 512 then downlad speed how much
becose my download speed is below 50 kb
    is it speed ok ?

    1. Your download speed is fine. The plan shows 512kbps which means 512 kilo bits per second. Now dividing 512 by 8 gives the original file download speed that is in bytes.
512/8 = 64kBps is the max achievable download speed. But you actually get around 50kBps.
Please don't get confused bits and bytes. Lowercase b is for bits and uppercase B is for bytes and know in mind that 8 bits = 1 Byte.

  101. Why we Have to confirm the connection speed each time after the limit 1 GB..? Is it possible for the plan (BBG Combo UL 675) fixed connection speed whatever they want!!
