BSNL GSM Mobile Voice SMS Procedure for Sending, Reply, Delete & Forward

Procedure for Sending a Voice Message from BSNL Mobile Number
1. Customer A – dials - * followed by B Customer number.(Including STD and other operator Numbers)
2. Welcome message through IVRS and voice prompt for Language Selection.
3. BSNL Voice SMS System prompts for Voice recording after the beep and ends recording by pressing “#” key.
4. BSNL Voice SMS System prompts for
  • Press “1” To Send the VSMS now.
  • Press “2” To Listen the message.
  • Press “3” To Record again.
  • Press “4” To send a VSMS in a scheduled time.
  • Press “*”To cancel the message.
5. BSNL Voice SMS prompts for “Your message has been sent, Thank you for using BSNLVSMS service”.
6. BSNL Voice SMSC System initiates OBD call to B-Party.
  • System prompts for number of new messages and the number from which the message has been received with date and time.
  • System plays the new voice message.
  • Press “1” To Play again.
  • Press “2” For next message.
  • Press “3” To play the message Header again.
7. Listened notification is sent to Customer - A, when Customer – B has listened to the Voice message.
Procedure for Retrieving the BSNL Voice SMS
1. Customer - dials ‘17070’ for retrieve the Voice message. (For BSNL subscribers of South )
2. Customer - B numbers of other operators can retrieve the Voice SMS by dialing 09442717070.
3. System prompts for number of new/old messages and the number from which the message has been received with date and time.
4. Plays the new /old voice message received lastly, then BSNL Voice SMS System prompts for
  • Press “1” To Play again.
  • Press “2” For next message.
  • Press “3” To play the message Header again.
  • Press “4” To delete the voice message.
  • Press “5” To save a voice message.
  • Press “6” To reply a voice message.
  • Press “7” To forward a voice message.
Procedure for Delete a BSNL Voice SMS by the User
1. Customer B - dials “17070” for retrieve the Voice message.
2. System prompts for number of new/old messages and the number from which the message has been received with date and time.
3. Plays the new /old voice message received lastly.
  • System prompts for Press “4” to delete this message.
  • System plays “your voice message has been deleted.”
Procedure to  Save a BSNL Voice message
1. Customer B - dials “17070” for retrieve the Voice message.
2. System prompts for number of new/old messages and the number from which the message has been received with date and time.
3. Plays the new /old voice message received lastly.
  • System prompts for Press “5” to save this message.
  • System plays “the message has been saved”.
Note: 
  • The capacity of VSMS inbox is 20 messages per subscriber.
  • Maximum 5 messages can be saved.
Reply to a BSNL Voice message
1. Customer B - dials “17070” for retrieve the Voice message.
2. System prompts for number of new/old messages and the number from which the message has been received with date and time. 
3. Plays the new /old voice message received lastly.
  • BSNL Voice SMS System prompts for Press “6” to reply this message.
  • BSNL Voice SMS System prompts for Voice recording after the peep and ends recording by pressing “#” key.
  • BSNL Voice SMS System prompts for
  • Press “1” To Send the VSMS now. b.   Press “2” To listen the message.
  • Press “3” To Record again.
  • Press “4” To send a VSMS in a scheduled time.
  • Press “*” To cancel the message.
To Forward a BSNL Voice message
1. Customer B - dials “17070” for retrieve the Voice message.
2. System prompts for number of new/old messages and the number from which
the message has been received with date and time.
3. Plays the new /old voice message received lastly.
  • BSNL Voice SMS System prompts for Press “7” to reply this message.
  • BSNL Voice SMS System plays “Please enter the destination number followed by”#” (or) press “*” key to cancel.”
  • BSNL Voice SMS System plays “To send this message press 1 or hang up, to re-input press 2, to deliver this message in future press 3, to cancel forwarding press “*”key.
  • BSNL Voice SMS System prompts “Your message has been submitted”.
BSNL Voice message Scheduling
1. Customer A - dials * followed by B-Party number.
2. Welcome message through IVR and voice prompt for Language Selection.
3. System prompts for Voice recording after the peep and ends recording by
pressing “#” key.

  • Press “1” To Send the VSMS now.
  • Press “2” To Listen the message.
  • Press “3” To Record again.
  • Press “4” To Schedule delivery.
  • Press “*” To cancel the message.
5. BSNL Voice SMS System prompts “For delivery today, press “#” key.  For delivery at a future date, enter two digits for the day, then two digits for the month, and then press “#” key.
6. Enter the time of day you would like your message to be delivered. Enter the hour as a number from '0' to '23,' then the minute as two digits from '00' to '59.' Then press #. The time now is...

General Features about BSNL Voice SMS Services
  • Auto provisioning will happen as and when the subscriber initiates the VSMS service.
  • Black listing of service is possible and SMS notification to B number on failure of OBD call with Regional language support for IVR and Auto deleting of Expired messages.
  • South Zone subscribers while roaming in other zones (North, East and West) will not have access to VSMS service as roaming scenario is yet to be decided and Similarly other Zonal subscribers of BSNL while roaming in south zone also will not have access to VSMS service.
  • Non BSNL Subscribers will not have BSNL Voice SMSC service for depositing of Voice SMS. However retrieval of VSMS is possible by dialing the allotted MSISDN number.
