BSNL USIM Card provides for its 3G Services having 128K / 256K memory. Most 2G SIM cards will have a memory of 32K, with some latest 2G SIM having 64 K memories. UMTS network is 3rd generation network which is responsible for providing high data rate luxury to customer, the video call facility and other special facilities along with security on UMTS network to be used at any / BSNL Dongles / Mobile Phones.

BSNL Nano SIM cards are the cards of fourth version or 4th Form Factor(4FF) introduced early in 2012 and Nano SIM(64K) is the smallest SIM on the market components such as additional memory or larger batteries, where BSNL slashed these NANO SIM card rates by 40% from old rates and offered with new introduction.

Due to many variations in SIM cards, Telecom major introduced BSNL SIM Card rates at a flat rate at Rs.20 for Normal & Smart SIM, and Rs.59 for 32K, 64K, 128K, MICRO & NANO SIM cards and Rs.200 for 256K (USIM) as charges for New Activation & Replacement / Dummy activation of defective/lost BSNL SIM of any below mentioned subscribed mobile plans.

BSNL SIM Card Replacement charges for C-TopUp SIM of authorized BSNL Retailer / Franchisee will be fixed at Rs.20 with inclusive of service tax for all prepaid and postpaid connections, and the above mentioned charges shall be applicable for all GSM Mobile Plans including any of the following data cards plans.
At present BSNL didn't offers any online facility for replacement of BSNL SIM, So authorized BSNL Prepaid & Postpaid Mobile Connections customers shall approach BSNL Customer Service Center and submit Valid ID Proof (POI) + Valid Address Proof (POA) to get the Replacement SIM of Normal, Micro SIM and Nano from BSNL.

BSNL New Mobile Connection Acquisition Process in Simple

PAN India 3G Mobile Service Operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has issued a new procedure to be followed from 09-November-2012, for acquisition of New Mobile Connection as per new guidelines issued by DOT(Department of Telecom), which is to be followed by every mobile user to get New BSNL Mobile Connection with latest BSNL Mobile Plans at any BSNL Point of Sale (POS).

Applicant approaches to Point of Sale (POS) for new Mobile Connection along with following signed documents with date 

  1. Completed Customer Acquisition Form (CAF) having Unique Number
  2. Photograph affixed on CAF
  3. Proof of Identity (POI)
  4. Proof of address (POA)
  • Note 1: In case of outstation customers (out of LSA / State) details of local reference i.e. Name, address, and contact Phone Number of local referee shall also be given with proof. 
  • Note 2: In case of foreign tourist Passport with Valid VISA stamp shall be treated as proof of identity. For poof of address, the address of local reference which may also be the tour operator shall be taken. In case there is no local reference, the address of stay (Hotel etc.) shall be taken. Connection shall be given upto the validity of VISA period or 3 months which ever is less. 
  • Note 3: The connection issued to the personnel deployed on Ships while at sea shore shall have validity only till the date they have the permit to stay at the port. 
  • Note 4: In case of illiterate person, CAF may be filled by a person at the POS and the thumb impression of the applicant may be taken on CAF, photo and document attached.
The applicant should provide alternate mobile number at in new Custome Application Form (CAF). The applicant shall be given receipt by POS with details of Mobile Number, CAF Number, POI, POA, issuing authority, date of issue and serial number of POI/POA with duly signed and stamp of POS.

For first activation with new Mobile Number booked via BSNL CYMN OnlineScheme or Prepaid numbers available at Retailers will be allowed to make a call to 1507 only by the customer.

An automated SMS will be sent at his/ her alternative number (as mentioned at S. No. 18 in new CAF) prompting him to make call to 1507 for tele verification after entering the details by concerned Franchisee/CSC in BSNL database. The text of SMS will be as follows “Dear Customer, Kindly Dial 1507 from your new SIM for televerification of new mobile number XXXXXXXXXX to complete the activation - BSNL”.

Applicant shall call to BSNL call centre at 1507 for televerification. In case the final activation does not take place within the same day, for want of call to 1507, second SMS, as a reminder, will be sent by BSNL Database next day.

This new procedure for activation of New Mobile Connection on acquisition with any of the BSNL Prepaid Plan and Postpaid Plan has been strictly implemented by BSNL according with new guidelines of DOT(Department of Telecom).

BSNL SMS Services for Landline & Broadband Customers

India's Largest telecom service provider & PSU Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has launched BSNL SMS Services applicable for Fixed Line (landline) and Broadband customers for Fault Booking and Bill Enquiry as Free on any Mobile(any service provider).

With the new service, BSNL Landline/Broadband subscriber can get Free SMS services on their BSNL or Non-BSNL Mobile numbers for Landline Invoice generated, Land line’s Fault booking, Fault clearance, Payment Reminder, 80% Broadband Usage alert for limited plans and Payment acknowledgements. BSNL subscribers can register their mobile number and email id at the time of request for service in the Customer Aquisition Form(CAF) applied to BSNL. This authorises BSNL to communicate with them and provide them a host of self care services on their registered mobile number or email address.

>> In order to enable customers to keep their contact information updated without visiting the CSC, mobile number and / or email id registrations (including changes) are to be now to be offered via SMS. BSNL CDR System a new billing system would then carry all correspondence from / to these mobile and email only.

BSNL Customers can currently book their Landline and Broadband faults by calling the CSC or by dialling into the IVR System.  This functionality is now being enabled via the SMS channel as part of this initiative. Incoming SMS shall be sent from the customers registered cell phone and shall specify the landline number (associated with the broadband in case of a broadband fault) on which fault is to be booked.  A response message is then sent back to the customer on the customers registered mobile with the docket number created.

BSNL has launched Internet Data Centers(IDC) at 10 locations across India, the locations are Ahmedabad, Faridabad, Mumbai, Ghaziabad, Ludhiana, Jaipur which are maintained by M/s Datacraft India Limited (Present as M/s Dimension Data) and Bangalore, Hyderabad, Cherthala, Ranchi are maintained by M/s Sai Infosystem India Limited (SIS) for implementing and selling of Data Center Services.

BSNL Landline / WLL Dynamic Locking Facility with Procedure

India’s Largest Landline and Broadband Subscriber base telecom service provider has allowed BSNL Dynamic Locking facility for BSNL Landline / WLL customers to control the improper use of Landline/WLL telephone with out necessary authorization of telephone subscriber who has owned the Landline/WLL connection, which results do not control the telephone bill with simple blocking procedure for outgoing calls. 
BSNL Number Locking Release Procedure for Local STD ISD Calls
BSNL has issued the Dynamic (Number) Locking Facility which will locks the telephone electronically by dialing a password/secret code from that telephone to be chosen by the customer of Individual/Enterprise and Broadband Services, which is absolutely a FREE service from BSNL.

Procedure to follow for BSNL Dynamic Lock & Release Facility of Landline
First One Time Registration: 
Select a 4 digit secret code and Dial 123 followed by the secret code twice with out any delay. 
Example:- 123-XXXX-XXXX (where the code “X” may be any numeric no), and wait for an acceptance tone (busy tone with a long duration.) acknowledging the command and after then disconnect the call. Subscriber can remember this code and keep it a secret, do not share with anybody. 

Barring of types of calls: 
By dialing “1”,”2”,”3”,”4” after the secret code the subscriber can bar various types of calls on his telephone given below. 
Dial 124-XXXX-1 wait for the acceptance tone and disconnect to bar STD & ISD calls only. 
Dial 124-XXXX-2 and wait for acceptance tone and disconnect to bar 95, STD, ISD calls and this only local calls. 
Dial 124-XXXX-3 and wait for acceptance tone and disconnect to allow Local calls, STD calls & Special Services calls and ISD calls should be barred. 
Dial 124-XXXX-4 and wait for acceptance tone and disconnect to allow only Incoming calls and all types of out going calls should be barred. 

Reintroduction of Barred facility: 
Dial 124-XXXX-0 wait for acceptance tone and disconnect to allow all calls including STD & ISD calls. Dial 124-XXXX-5 wait for acceptance tone and disconnect to allow local and 9 level calls. 

If Subscriber wants to change the 4-Digit secret code, the procedure is as follows:
Dial 123 followed with present code followed by the newly chosen code. 
Example: Dial  123XXXXABCD ( XXXX-Old code, ABCD is new numeric secret code), and wait for the acceptance tone and then disconnect. Your code will now be “ABCD”. 

In order to ensure the security against unauthorized usage of BSNL Landline/WLL, the system will reject the command if the code has used as incorrect. If incorrect code is used 9 times, the telephone is permanently locked on the last status and the facilities will be resetted only by the exchange in-charge of BSNL by getting a written request from concerned Landline Customer. So every customer of Urban & Rural Landline Services will utilize these dynamic lock services and avoid the unauthorized usage.
