Now there is no need  to worry about excess broadband usage, because BSNL has provided two options in getting your BSNL Broadband Data usage on daily basis. It is always good to regularly check the broadband data usage account to know the usage pattern, which will help the customer to keep control on internet downloads if subscribed to a BSNL Limited Volume based plans.

1. Through BSNL Broadband Customer Selfcare Portal  which requires user to be registered, this portal provides broadband usage and landline customer details upto date and the facilities like Complaints, Plan change, View Bills, Bill Payment, Check Broadband Unbilled Usage, Update Profile, Track Orders/Complaints Online, Change Broadband Password etc.., through login to their respective link as follows.
2. Broadband Data Usage Checking Process through  SMS

For BSNL Mobile Customer (Registration is Mandatory)
  • Step-1: Register land-line number by sending SMS "REG space Landline Number prefixed with STD code" to 52295 i.e. REG<space><STD code with Landline No> (Telephone Number means your Broadband Landline number) to 52295.                   Example: To register land-line number 23455555 in Hyderabad, subscriber will send SMS as REG<space>04023455555 to 52295.
  • Step-2: After obtaining SMS of sucessfully registration send SMS  "BBU space Landline Number prefixed with STD code" to 52295 i.e. BBU<space><STD code with Landline No>(Landline No means your Broadband Landline number) to 52295 for obtaining Broadband data usage.                                                                                        Example: To know Broadband data usage of land-line number 23455555 in Hyderabad,  subscriber will send SMS as  BBU<space>04023455555 to 52295.
For Non-BSNL(Other Operator) Mobile Customer (Registration is Mandatory)
  • Step-1: Register Land-line number by sending SMS as "REG space Landline Number prefixed with STD code" to 919448077777 i.e. REG<space><STD code with Landline No> to 09448077777.                                                                                                      Example: To register land-line number  23455555 in Hyderabad, customer will send SMS as REG<space>04023455555 to 09448077777.
  • Step-2: After obtaining SMS of sucessfully registration send SMS as "BBU space Landline Number prefixed with STD code" to 09448077777 i.e. BBU<space><STD code with Landline No>(Landline No means your Broadband Landline number) to 09448077777 for obtaining Broadband data usage.                                        Example: To know Broadband data usage of land-line number 23455555 in Hyderabad customer will send SMS as BBU<space>04023455555 to 09448077777.
BSNL Customers having an option to pay the bills through the BSNL online portal which will provide more convenient and secure access for payment, and customer can have a look for Broadband Modem Charges and Unlimited Broadband Plans.

  7. While registering , when I clicked next the system showed , that its timed out . Then again when I tried to register it showed that user already exists . I thought that I might have been registered earlier and the message was due to an error , so I tried to login . It logged in , but to my surprise I found that it was someone else's account . I immediately closed it .
    My question is that why this happened and will any action would be taken against me for accessing someone else's account whereas the reality is that it was a mere coincidence and nothing else . I did nothing in the account . Please clarify . I'm from East Zone

The day BSNL has changed from its old portal system for broadband usage i have not been able to register till date & taking to BSNL guys is just useless they themselves are not aware an excellant example of how government of India enterpirses fail to private competitors & the system asks for some "dyna pro" not installed on you machine also the sms system is total failure does noy give any result.

  25. bsnl is playing tactics in opening selfcare site.. this site is not opening from the bsnl broadband connection, but can be open from other networks.. Like private players, bsnl are also started cheating customers to not see the broadband usage and they can bill any amount and forcing us to pay without any discussion with their customer care, no one in the customer care picks the phone(very well know fact). Bsnl pls kick away all the 10 to 5 working people, so that the services would be much better

  43. Hi , I tried to open the selfcare account with my user id & password. I had given the correct one that was in the mail got from bsnl. it did not open. I tried to register again and it does not allow since the customer id is there. I tried forgot option but it is not allowing saying the answer to challenge question is wrong.   65. BSNL is cheating customers to a large extent. I have problem with BSNL broad band internet service under unlimited usage package. I have problem with getting the connection no matter its day or night. It is taking around 10 min to get the connection. It keeps disconnecting periodically and to get back connection it takes another 10 min. Complaint to the department never yielded any result. Junior Engineer puts blame on lines man, and lines man blames junior engineer at BSNL. No body is attending the problem inspite reporting to the higher authorities.

  69. BSNL claims the BB usage tracking is online. However, the data is updated manually, with a delay of even a few days. Hence, checking daily usage is not possible. Please note that in the previous tracking system the usage was updated, as soon as one session ended. This new version certainly is not an improvement.

  81. People are misguided here by bsnl that they can see their broadband usage, but in reality neither you will receive any confirmation email after registration nor bsnl guys will call you.
    I have been using bsnl from the past 1 year and my experience was nightmare. As usual broadband disconnects frequently (SNR varies 0 to 38) . I have never heard a voice from bsnl customer care in my past 1 year(obviously line is busy). They have the worst staff who knows nothing about internet(I surprised how they installed my connection). If your modem fails ,they don't have new modem in their stock. You have to buy a brand new from the market. Now they are charging hefty usage charges on unlimited plans and I said earlier you don't have any option to view your internet usage.BSNL WORST HAI MERE LIYE.
    Moral of the Story- Don't take bsnl connection. Try any private company even if they charge a little more.

    1. at the time of registration, you have to fix password, BSNL will not send any password, so go to forgot password option and fill the details, it will works

  86. Dear Sir,

    I had earlier rural plan for "BBG Rural USOF 99" from last 2-3 years, but 3 days ago I filled the application form for unlimited plan for 525 as form given by officers from urban area. I had also asked them if there is any rural unlimited plan with reduced rate than urban but they denied hence I filled the form & changed my plan to Unlimited @525/- without any free calls. today first time I am surfing after my plan changes & I came to know that rural plan is available @500/- with 150 free calls per month. What can I do to switch over this plan to "BB Home Rural Combo ULD 500"

    1. if your connection is under the rural exchange, approach concerned area BSNL broadband commercial section and submit your application for plan change to BB Home Rural Combo ULD 500, if your not under rural echange you are not eligible for rural plans

  89. I tried to register to selfcare portal but it is not allowing me to register even it is showing my customer id as invalid. I tried to take help from 1500 and 1504 but there were no response..:(

    I am very disappointing with the services i am getting from BSNL. There is no concept of customer care in BSNL.... Very very bad services.

  91. I have registered my land line number through your above mentioned procedure (SMS).
    But i din't get any reply about the usage.

    PS: I am having Rs 900/month plan and am getting speed of 40kbps :/
    and that is why i wanted to check my usage and as usual BSNL is behaving as BSNL. Bad experience. Frustrating

    1. Contact concerned area engineer and inform about your speed, because you are paying Rs.900 per month, you have the right to ask for issued speed. if not satisfied, complain first in

  93. I have cancelled my broadband service for two months. Again i have written letter to activate the broadband service. They said that with in 24 hrs your broadband service will be activated. And no service till now. I tired of calling bsnl people tirmalgiri. Once i have been visited office. They said it will be activated today and no service till now. No proper responce. They are cutting the call instead of solving the problem.

    1. You must register on Selfcare portal separately by using your Service ID, Account Number and Phone Number.
